Part 1: Install the Extension

The first part happens entirely inside Chrome. You'll add the extension from the Chrome Web Store and pin it to your toolbar so it's always one click away during a consult.

Step 1. Open Google Chrome and search for the Chrome Web Store.

Step 2. In the Web Store's search bar, type Whiskr.

Step 3. Click the official Whiskr extension from the results — published by whiskr.ai with the green "w" logo — to open its installation page.

Step 4. Click the blue Add to Chrome button.

Step 5. When the browser pop-up appears, click Add extension to confirm the installation. After a moment, you'll see a confirmation that Whiskr has been added.

Step 6. Click the puzzle-piece icon in your Chrome toolbar, find Whiskr in the list, and click the pin icon next to it for easy access while you work.


Part 2: Generate Your Secure API Token

With the extension installed, the next step is to give it permission to read your finalized notes. Whiskr does this through a personal API token — a secure key tied to your account that grants the extension read-only access to your clinic's finalized consults.

Step 1. Navigate to your Whiskr dashboard at app.whiskr.ai in a new tab.

Step 2. In the left-hand sidebar, click Settings.

Step 3. Scroll down the page until you reach the whiskr Extension section.

Step 4. Click the green Generate New Token button.

Step 5. Enter a memorable name for the token — something like My Clinic or Front Desk Mac — and click Generate Token.

Step 6. Click Copy to Clipboard to copy the token.

Step 7. Save the token somewhere secure immediately, such as a password manager. The system will not display it to you again — if it's lost, you'll need to generate a new one.


Part 3: Connect Your Practice Management System

With the extension installed and a token in hand, the final step is to tell Whiskr which PMS you're using and authenticate the link.

Step 1. Click the Whiskr extension icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the Whiskr sidebar.

Step 2. Select your specific PMS from the available options: EzyVet, IDEXX Neo, NectarVet, or Provet.

Step 3. Paste your copied API token into the text field below the PMS options.

Step 4. Click the green Connect button.

You'll see a "Connected successfully!" confirmation, and the sidebar will switch to its working view — a list of today's finalized consults, each with patient name, breed, owner, and a green Fill button matched to your PMS.


You're Done

Setup is complete. From this point forward, pushing a finalized SOAP note into a patient's record takes one click instead of a round-trip through copy and paste. The Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan fields populate themselves directly inside your PMS.

A few things worth keeping in mind:

  • Each clinician should generate their own token. That way a lost laptop only requires revoking a single token, not disrupting the whole team.

  • Only finalized notes sync. Drafts won't appear in the sidebar, so there's no risk of accidentally pushing an unfinished consult into a patient record.

  • You can revoke or replace tokens anytime from the same Settings page where you created them.

Five minutes of setup, and you're ready to instantly autofill and sync your finalized SOAP notes into your patient records — getting you out of the clinic faster and back to doing what you love.
